At NT’05 we are introducing a new start to the conference for student participants. There will be a ”Tutorial Day” on the Sunday immediately preceding the main conference. This will be free for all student participants registered at NT’05 but it is essential to note attendance at the tutorial day on the registration form. Other conference participants are welcome to participate in the Tutorial Day on the payment of a small fee. See the registration form for details.

The aim of this Tutorial Day is two-fold. Firstly it will serve to introduce student participants to two of the important topics that will be discussed at the main conference and give them the necessary background information to follow and understand the presentations at NT’05. Secondly, it will serve to enhance the interaction between the student participants at NT’05. The Tutorial Day will be preceded by a welcome party on the Saturday evening organised by the Göteborg students for the student participants attending the Tutorial.

For this first NT Tutorial Day the topics will be ”Raman Spectroscopy” and ”Electronic Transport”. We are extremely happy to announce two distinguished lecturers who will cover these topics:

• The Raman tutorial will be given by Mildred Dresselhaus (MIT).
• The Electronic Transport tutorial will be given by Jesper Nygård (Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen).

The tutorial sessions will take place in the MC2 building on the Chalmers Campus.

Tutorial Day Program
