Small Systems (often called "Nanoscale Science" or
"Nanotechnology") by providing links to the Publisher's site as well
as the equivalent, openly accessible preprint.

Promote two-way communication in the Science community by providing a
dedicated discussion forum for every nominated publication.

Identify key publications in the field by seeking non-anonymous
endorsements by experts in the field.
(Maintenance of Highlights in Small Systems is currently a time-consuming
job that is currently lacking funding. In the meantime, we have launched
a more automated pilot project,
Highlights in Nanotechnology,
as a part of the
Foundations of Nanoscale Science and Technology
Graduate-Level course at MSU.)
