The DNC09 Conference Venue is at CECAM Headquarters at the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.

How to get there

Go HERE or HERE for information about how to reach Lausanne and the CECAM Headquarters at the EPFL. A useful link to GoogleMaps with the location of hotels, train/metro stations and CECAM/EPFL is HERE.
This map (click HERE for a full-size image) shows how to get from the EPFL metro station to the CECAM conference room INJ-218 on the 2nd floor.

In short -
if you are flying in, the most convenient airport to fly to is Geneva - GVA. A direct train connects the airport with Lausanne. The train ride lasts about 45 minutes, and the complete time table is posted HERE. The tickets can be purchased at the airport railway station using cash or credit cards at the current price in 2nd class of CHF 25 one-way or CHF 50 round-trip.

The largest Swiss airport in Zurich -- ZRH -- is farther away, but may be more convenient to fly to. There are non-stop IC and ICN trains from the ZRH airport station to Lausanne every hour. The train ride lasts about 2.5 hours, and the complete time table is posted HERE. The tickets can be purchased at the airport railway station using cash or credit cards at the current price in 2nd class of CHF 71 one-way or CHF 142 round-trip.

Hotel accommodation

Official hotel information from the Tourist Office of Lausanne is posted HERE. Many DNC09 participants are staying in the Hôtel du Boulevard and Hôtel Aulac. You can try (no guarantee!) to get a discount by mentioning that you participate in the DNC09 CECAM workshop at the EPFL.
